Lumenal surface of tracheal epithelium (SEM). This epithelial cell has both cilia and microvilli on its apical surface. They can be distinguished from each other because of the greater length of cilia versus that of microvilli.
Cilia (purple) - 5-10 µm in length and 250 nm in diameter
Microvilli (blue) - 0.5-1.0 µm in length and about 100 nm in diameter
Epithelium (yellow) - damage prevents further study
