Cardiac muscle is composed of branched, mononuclear cells (occasionally bi-nucleate) with the nuclei located in the center of the cell. Cardiac muscle cells contain myofibrils coposed of longitudinal arrays of sarcomers.
Nucleus (blue) - in the center of the cell and is mostly euchromatin
Myofibrils (dark green) - longitudinal sections of sacromeres in the cytoplasm
