Capillary structure varies in different tissues and organs.
Sinusoidal capillaries (or sinusoids) are one type with a larger diameter (15 to 30 µm) and more irregularly shaped.
Sinusoids are found in a number of organs including the adrenal gland. More specifically, the adrenal cortex is composed of endocrine cells that produce steroid hormones that are supplied by a rich network of sinusoids.
