Skin covers the surface of the body and protects it from the environment. It is classified as thick or thin.
Thin Skin
Thin skin covers most of the body except for the palmar (foot) and plantar (hand) surfaces of the hands and feet.

Thick skin is devoid of hair and found only on the palmer (foot) and plantar (hand) surfaces of the hand and feet.
